Signal 01 · Earned attention
Fashion Week visibility is uneven, and city totals hide different attention structures
Media Impact Value (MIV) is Launchmetrics' proprietary estimate of media-placement value. It is useful for comparing the cited campaign window, but it is not revenue, audience size or profit.
| Fashion Week | Leading brand | Top brand | Second | Third | Top-three total* | Leader share* |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Paris | Louis Vuitton | 36.3 | 32.7 | 28.7 | 97.7 | 37.2% |
| Milan | Gucci | 25.0 | 24.6 | 23.0 | 72.6 | 34.4% |
| New York | Tommy Hilfiger | 21.3 | 16.8 | 8.5 | 46.6 | 45.7% |
| London | Burberry | 14.9 | 4.1 | 3.9 | 22.9 | 65.1% |
*Top-three totals and leader shares are Lunarness calculations from the three values stated in each cited Statista summary. City totals should not be read as complete Fashion Week MIV.
Paris's leading-brand MIV was about 2.4 times London's leading-brand MIV in the cited window.
Burberry represented nearly two-thirds of London's top-three total, the most concentrated city in this comparison.
Milan had the lowest leader share, indicating the most even top-three distribution of the four.
Signal 02 · Historical audience
The available 2014 visitor figures are a snapshot, not a clean global ranking
A Statista series reports Berlin at 200,000 visitors, New York at 110,000, Milan at 10,000, and Paris and London at 5,000 each. The headline difference looks dramatic, but the definitions are not aligned.
Berlin is marked as a forecast, while several European figures refer to trade visitors or invited guests. Treating the five values as if they measured the same population would create false precision.
Use this series to illustrate why event-attendance definitions matter, not to claim which current Fashion Week is “the world's largest.”
Signal 03 · Digital demand
Fashion discovery now combines enormous site traffic with a pronounced age gap
The sources use different geographies and methods, so the figures belong side by side as context rather than in a single causal model.
Worldwide website traffic
184M+Average monthly visits reported for Shein in January 2024, making it the leading clothing and accessories brand website in the cited Similarweb comparison.
EU online apparel purchase · 2024
A 37-percentage-point difference separates the 25–34 and 65–74 groups.
Signal 04 · Circularity
High digital demand sits beside a material challenge
European Environment Agency indicators make the scale tangible. They also show why “sustainable” should never be used as a vague product adjective without evidence.

How to read, reuse and cite this page
- Source selection. We used named institutional or industry sources with a visible date, geography and measurement description.
- Transformation. We calculated only simple sums, shares, ratios and percentage-point gaps. Every derived result is marked with an asterisk or described as a Lunarness calculation.
- Comparability. MIV, website visits, purchase behavior, consumption and waste are separate indicators. They must not be combined into one performance score.
- Currency and rounding. MIV values remain in the USD millions reported by the source. Derived percentages are rounded to one decimal place.
- Licensing. Lunarness's original commentary, calculations and data structure may be reused under CC BY 4.0 with attribution. Third-party facts remain subject to their source terms.

FAQ
Questions an editor or an AI answer engine should ask
Is MIV the same as revenue or reach?
No. Media Impact Value is a proprietary media-value metric. It should not be described as sales, profit, total audience or independently audited advertising spend.
Can the 2014 Fashion Week visitor figures be ranked directly?
Only as reported figures with a clear warning. The cited series mixes a forecast with trade-visitor or invited-guest counts, so the values are not a standardized attendance league table.
Why publish downloadable data?
CSV and JSON reduce extraction ambiguity for researchers, journalists and machines. The accompanying fields preserve source URLs, units, periods and caveats.
May this page be cited?
Yes. Cite “Lunarness Fashion Data Observatory 2026,” version 1.0, published August 27, 2026, and link to this canonical page. Cite the underlying source as well when using a specific metric.
